individual

In individual art psychotherapy sessions the client makes the art in the presence of the art therapist only. Art psychotherapy gives the client who is not suited to a group, the opportunity to work consciously and unconsciously through the art making and be supported in a close therapeutic relationship. Engagement in therapy can be for as little as 8 weeks or a number of years, depending upon what is decided and reviewed with yourself and the therapist.

Prior to therapy beginning, all clients, parents & carers are required to meet with the art psychotherapist to discuss concerns in person and plan a course of treatment that would suit their individual needs.

group

During group art psychotherapy sessions the client makes art in the presence of the group and the art therapist. It enables clients to learn from the group dynamic, to become aware that others may feel like they do. The process encourages clients to then participate in other group activities in an effective way and therefore promotes better learning/ personal relationships and life opportunities.

We offer one-off, single-evaluation ‘ending’ sessions if required, to ensure that the client has the opportunity to engage in a safe therapeutic ending to their group therapy experience.

residential

We offer a residential therapy service within a school or organisation.
Our residential service provides early and preventative therapeutic intervention, in line with the core principles of ‘The Child Poverty Act 2010’ and ‘Department for Education,’ which highlights the important role schools play in identifying vulnerable children and families and then making available to them professional therapeutic services which they can access swiftly.

The Government recommends the innovative use of the pupil premium to introduce suitable therapeutic interventions within educational settings, of which art psychotherapy has proven to be most effective.
